Nosy Tsarabanjina is a sacred island. On the small peninsula of the east beach is the tomb of the Sakalava kings of the Mitsio islands still venerated nowadays by the Malagasy who bring offerings.
If you want to visit it, respect the tradition that one must go barefoot, dressed with a lamba (a sort of pareo) and deposit a gift to not anger the Gods. Tsarabanjina is in our opinion the most beautiful of the islands of the Mitsio. Its beaches of white bright sand, its crystal-clear water of emerauld green and cristal blue make it a paradisiac place.
Everywhere there is something to look at, and perhaps you’ll be lucky and be able to take a picture of the Ankoay, the fishing eagle of Madagascar.
